I recently read an article about the scale of the layoff wave in tech companies. The first thing that I thought about, it is an excellent reflection of these companies' cultures. If anybody reads the work of
Frederic Laloux
, it can remind them of what different companies did in uncertain situations where they had a more advanced culture. In most cases, these companies had a better chance of survival.
These short-term steps are more poisonous than we see in the first step. Just one thing I also experienced in the past when there was a rumor of layoff, those who have the best skills will leave the company first.
If we are talking about the tech sector and companies like Twitter, Amazon, and Microsoft, all providing digital services. If the problems are not on the visible edge of the water, the risk for the systems in place will rise exponentially.
It can be in multiple layers, from operational stability to cybersecurity. However, I firmly believe the technology and processes will overtake some tech tasks over time; we are still not there yet!
Retaining staff is essential, especially in the technology sector! Over the digitalization of each company, the importance of technology will rise exponentially!
