I have seen the horror movie of John Carpenter called Village of the Damned. I think there is excellent parallelism between the film and the direction we head. Why I have this conclusion?

First, we need to clarify why AI able to outperform humanity? I think the most relevant factors are two things:

The brain has a limited operational speed, but computation evolves at an exponential pace.AI uses interconnected "brain" if one node learns something, it shares the knowledge to the others. We now have the expectation about AI singularity, which we will reach in one decade. Computation will reach the complexity of the human brain in 2025.

But how could we compete with technology? There are several answers to this question. Go through the topics one by one.

Brain-computer interface (BCI) developed a lot in the past years.

Now we can read information from the brain without need some drilling prior. The transmission rate is about gigabit per second. Now we are heading for 5G networks where these speeds cause no problem. That's OK, now we could read the information, but what about writing?

It is not a surprise the sponsor of this project is DARPA. It is like a knife, which can be used for different purposes. A Chef could create the most delicious menu, while others kill each other with the same tool.

Yes! It can be used more for manipulation. No need to go further to imagine, if someone writes memory, or images directly to your brain. But be optimistic! Imagine when it used for distributed learning! Imagine your childhood. You are sitting in the classroom in Math class. The teacher writes something to the table. Suddenly one of your classmates understands the connection between information. And that moment, this knowledge shared between the others! How this possibility accelerates learning? I think if scientists collaboratively use their minds, they will solve problems way faster than anytime before!

There were another few movies which able to stimulate your imagination:

Both of these movies show some exciting aspects, what we can expect when these technologies hit the market!

I think the main question will come from Lucy! What if we can use more percentage from our brain? What are the limitations?

I'm optimistic in the future! Currently, the time limits the possibilities which knowledge we can learn! With a distributed way of learning, we could share the wisdom faster than at any time before!

My last question is:

What will we do with this information? For this question, I share a story from my past. I had a discussion with one of my friends who study and teach Islam.

He unfolded the story from the middle ages when one Islamic leader pointed to a decision. They stopped to rush for an unreachable unknown, what we see every day. After we invent something, we don't stop. We rush for the next unknown. With this behavior, we are missing many happy moments in life. They finished this rush to be able to live the moments.

I think in this aspect we reached a crossroads. In one way we could rush technology to have continuous evolution, on the other way we need to fulfill our basic needs and live for every moment.

For closing, I want to share a short video
