This week, I read an article about SAP changing its work environment from fully remote work to a 3-day-in-office plan. As we see significant layoffs in the tech sector, it is one of a kind. Those who adopt a remote work lifestyle will not accept this change, so they will move to a company that better supports them.

This is more for high performers who can work alone and achieve great things. Those who spend significant time around the coffee machine and are great storytellers will remain at the company!

It is a choice of the management!

As I phrased in one of my comments, this is a self-reflection of managers who don't trust their hiring decisions.

In most cases, if I see the colleague at his desk, I think he is working (The productivity is still a question..)

If I don't see them, I assume they are not working.

I argued several times with such kinds of managers. If they don't judge the work based on output, how do they decide if the team works? It shows me they are not professional in their management job, they do not know the field which they lead, so they are uncertain about results, and they want to justify there is a result!

The next stage is when they announce Orwell's tools like job control - show the great trust in our people!

These things will change as the job market is globalized - many companies support complete remote work, such as mine!

When COVID-19 hit the world, a complete set of tools was created for all problems that arise when discussing teamwork!
