I met with the Blockchain technology in early 2012. For me, the most significant impact was the axiom of this technology. The simplicity! How different pieces of technology combined for new technology. They put together a chained log, peer to peer network, and cryptography. The same process as today we could construct component-based systems.
Here we arrive at the most important cornerstone of these components!
Simplicity!Today's blockchain solutions are everything but not simple! In most of the cases, the developers want to stuff everything to these solutions! The result of these efforts symbolized with the next picture:
With these goals, we break the simplicity! So we cannot be surprised when next we get into this news:
I think this is the reason why most of the current Blockchain platforms will disappear in the future.
In the future, I envision a simple Blockchain platform that only realizes the basic functionality! Store data fast and reliable. The same as the current databases store the transaction logs. With this concept, we can focus on the core values of the Blockchain solutions!

If we concentrate only on the essential functions, we could gain speed, which is the most crucial pain point of the current solutions.
Less complicated code is more easily maintainable. This way, we could increase security also, as well as the code quality!
