In my former job, I several times heard: Operation is not the business where we need creativity. It is about procedures and execution.

Analyze this sentence with automatization and robotization! This means, just follow the orders and don't try to make changes. I think these jobs are #1 in replacement. If there is a well-defined process, then it has a great chance for replacement by AI!

People there are happy as they can gain money from their day-to-day jobs without the need for learning, but if they are not saving for the future, there will be a bigger drama than you can see in any Mexican, Brazilian, or Turkish series.

I think this is also true if somebody at their day-to-day work just follows execution without any creativity. Like the Kodak effect - we did the same as in the past; why we failed? Because of the lack of new value creation!

I think even if somebody works in IT Operations, they should come up with value-added services otherwise their value proposition will lose their interest!

Even there, there are so many opportunities to learn and leverage exponential technologies. You either pay for an external vendor and execute the repetitive task, or you replace these repetitive tasks on your own! The decision is yours, but keep the consequences in mind!
