Green organizations keep, the meritocracy and hierarchy of the orange organizations, but the decisions made on a lower level. Employees make the decisions, who can do this without the approval of the management.
This approach is important because they face daily problems, so this is why we can trust they find a better solution than a remote expert.
Decentralization and empowerment are not simple, because we ask the middle management to share their power, and give up the control.
So it is not enough if the green leaders fulfill their tasks (like in the orange organizations), they must be a servant leader, who listen to their employees and give them empowerment, motivation, and development.
The second cornerstone is the value-driven culture, and motivation goal.
They trust the lower level employees makes proper decisions based on their shared values, not because of meeting rules and regulations.
These organizations have an incredibly lively culture, where they appreciate, and empower the colleagues. Researches show the value-driven organizations far surpasses the others.
While in the orange organizations the strategy and execution is the leader, then in the green ones the organizational culture is the most important.
The next approach difference is while the orange organizations are profit-oriented, and for this reason, they should keep in mind the shareholder's interest, then the green organizations are more open: They not only responsible for the investors, they responsible for the management of the company, the employees, the customers, the suppliers, the local community, the society, and the environment.
Every larger organization try to present their work in social responsibility. While the orange organizations think this is a necessarily needed lousy thing, then the green organizations look like an indispensable element.
This mindset gives the motivation for innovations and more responsible entrepreneurial mindset.
While the orange organizations look for the organizations as a machine, then the green ones as a family. This mindset reflected in their communications.
Just imagine how much time and energy can be saved if we do our daily work instead to make presentation materials, to make enough information for the management, to be able to make the decisions.
In these organizations, the bureaucratic organizational units have a much smaller size (HR, Controlling, Procurement). Most of the tasks done by colleagues.
