Today we have great demand for developers. Many are missing from the job market, but that is only a matter of time to change. Artificial Intelligence (AI) is on the rising horizon. Just imagine how it changed over time, how it learned fields and beat world champions in their field. It is only one side of the coin, and the other is that AI is not only evolving in one field. It can oversee complex all fields which it learns. Wu-Dao 2.0 is an excellent example of how different models from different fields join to have the next level of intelligence.

I think the same will happen in software development. Over the years, if you check how IDE functionality evolved and helped the developers, it will evolve exponentially.

Now it is enough to check open-source software. How many errors exist in the current software? I can tell you! A lot of them. As we evolve, the functionality and complexity also rise exponentially, and we have no chance to keep pace with the errors. The good news, first, this will be the one that AI will solve. First, it will show us the errors; next, it will fix them.

But this is only the visible part of the iceberg. If we not only think about a product but think about all the underlining libraries! How can we optimize the whole? Extract redundancy, fix them in one place, cut layers from the code. What if we add to this math the operating system, which is also, in most cases, open-source?

What if we bake the whole code source into one image and run it on a computer? How much does this way of thinking change the current software development? How much chance for a current programmer to have an overview of this complex code?

In the future, more value creation will happen via AI than ever before!

Software development will turn to a new paradigm where only a few will keep pace with the machines!
