Today, I dedicate an entire article for the topic, as I see several companies are trying to follow the same pattern.
Nowadays there are so much hype around AI, so either the companies must provide AI tools, or AI integrations to fulfill the customer demands.
With such cooperations like SAP announced with OpenAI, is more dangerous than you think:
It follows the same patterns, that I refer in my business presentations.
Imagine, you are a worker, who uses day to day the AI to offload your work tasks. As you are able to accomplish task, the platform provider also learn from you. If you are following the same pattern, over time, all your work professional knowledge handed over to the platform provider.
What happens then, when the platform providers like OpenAI knocks into your company and telling it can entirely replace your workplace with AI.
Imagine this, when a whole company using it, and cheers how it helps for their daily work. How much time required until a whole company's IP goes into the platform provider hands.
Like with individuals - the company pays to handover their IP to the platform provider.
How much time these companies have? And I tell you one thing, it will not simply replicate the knowledge, but redevelop everything from scratch without the legacy of human developers! There will be no signs from the source - they don't need it to copy. They can rewrite by their own, and they can scale like none of the software developer companies.
Now the second problem is the geopolitics. How the IP transformed from one continent to another.
I think everyone can predict the outcomes... Now what is the lesson from the story?
Think it over who will be the ultimate beneficiary when you get your help?
